Hiking at Lake Tegernsee

Hiking opens new perspectives and lifts the spirit. Mountain air clears the mind. Exercise strengthens the immune system and sparks happiness. Especially at Lake Tegernsee, with its beautiful alpine pastures, rustic inns with fantastic views and mountain peaks.

The Hotel Bussi Baby in Bad Wiessee is your ideal base camp for hiking tours around Lake Tegernsee. Lace up your hiking boots and set off right after our delicious, hearty breakfast. There are countless leisurely hikes around the lake and more challenging tours leading to a true peak experience.

We have selected three hikes at Lake Tegernsee for you. Don’t miss out on this beautiful experience.

Mountain tour up the Wallberg

The classic at Lake Tegernsee: a mountain hike up the Wallberg, the local mountain of Lake Tegernsee on the southern shore of the lake. Ambitious hikers naturally leave the Wallberg cable car aside and hike up the 1,722-metre-high mountain  - after all, 930 metres in altitude. After the ascent, you can replenish yourself at the Berghotel Altes Wallberghaus, just 15 minutes from the Wallbergbahn mountain station.

Fantastic hike to alpine pastures and rustic cabins

The Neureuth and Gindelalmschneid are among the most popular destinations at Lake Tegernsee. And rightly so. The circular walk to Kreuzbergalm, Gindelalm and Neureuth is quite entertaining and offers wonderful views of Lake Tegernsee and towards Schliersee and Wendelstein. If you get hungry and thirsty, there are several alpine pastures and rustic cabins to choose from: The Kreuzbergalm, which is open in summer, and the Gindelalm, as well as the Berggasthof Neureuth with its huge sun terrace and view of the lake - also a popular destination in winter.

Hiking to the Tegernsee Hütte

The Tegernseer Hütte at 1,650 metres is situated like an eagle's nest between Buchstein and Rossstein. An excellent location with a magnificent view. The shortest hiking trail to the cabin leads from Bayerwald via Sonnbergalm and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. The last section is a bit of a scramble. If you want to avoid this, take the Altweibersteig trail around the Roßstein. This takes about 20 minutes longer. The view is most beautifully enjoyed there with a cool drink and traditional rustic cabin dishes.
