Waldfeste in Tegernsee: Traditional forest festivals
When the Waldfest season starts at Lake Tegernsee, it's time to dressed up in traditional Bavarian attire and celebrate. Every summer the local sports clubs around Lake Tegernsee organise their traditional Waldfeste (forest festivals) every summer on beautiful squares, surrounded by huge trees.
Bavarian tradition is celebrated on a large scale. Here you will find brass music, Goaßlschnalzer (Whipcrackers), folk dances, raffle stands, shooting galleries, chicken and "Steckerlfisch", coffee and cake, as well as wine, beer and beverage stands.
The FC Real Kreuth football club Waldfest at Leonhardstoana Hof traditionally opens the forest festival season. This magically attracts locals and guests from June to August. If the weather does not suit the originally planned dates, there is always an alternative date a few days or a week later.
