Winter at Lake Tegernsee
Winter days in Bad Wiessee
When the first snow settles on Lake Tegernsee, things get properly cosy here. You stay in rooms made of Swiss stone pine, swim up in the Spa Royal looking out over the snowy lake – with the mountains right on your doorstep.
Spa Royal in winter
The rooftop infinity pool is heated and open to you every day from 8 am to 8 pm. Then sauna and steam bath (12 noon to 8 pm) – and watch the light fade over the lake from up here. Also bookable as a day spa: discover the Spa Royal.
Sledging on the Wallberg
From the hotel it’s a short trip to the Wallberg cable car. At the top begins a sledging run known well beyond the valley: 6.5 km long, dropping around 825 metres to the valley floor. Warm up on the way at the Berghotel Altes Wallberghaus. Whether you can sledge depends on the snow.
Advent at Lake Tegernsee
During Advent the markets around Lake Tegernsee light up. Dates and boat connections are in our overview of the Christmas markets at Lake Tegernsee.
Evenings at Boom Boom
When it gets dark early outside, Boom Boom is just the place: modern Southeast Asian cooking with pho ga, red curry and dumplings, followed by Asian-style cocktails at the bar. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday from 6 pm to 10 pm, the bar until 1 am. In the afternoon, the Rooftop Spa Bar awaits above the lake.
When it’s grey outside
Head to Tegernsee Phantastisch, the indoor adventure world in Weissach – or simply stay up in the Spa Royal and watch the weather from the pool.
